Imagine watching Fred Astaire dancing on the ceiling, held aloft by the strains of the Boston Pops' You're All the World to Me from Royal Wedding. Legendary Hollywood composer and conductor, John Williams, promises Astaire, the Pops, and so much more. John Williams has accumulated his 45 Academy Award nominations and 21 Grammys by composing and conducting landmark scores for countless films, including ET, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List. But at Share the Beat, he will conduct the Boston Pops in a tribute to producer/director Stanley Donen. Some of Donen's most notable works are Singin' in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and, of course, Royal Wedding.
This year, Share the Beat's contemporary flavor will be enhanced when award winning singer/songwriter Phil Vassar takes the stage. The Pops will join Phil live, performing some of his popular hits that have been scored just for Share the Beat.
Most importantly, James Redford will join other families who have been touched by the miracles of transplantation as they share their experiences of extraordinary generosity and profound gratitude.
James Denton of Desperate Housewives, a long time supporter of Share the Beat, will host the evening as we celebrate the hope in transplantation.
